YOUR GIFT · OUR RESPONSIBILITY

Donation Terms

Thank you for entrusting Imdad Relief with your donation. These terms explain how donations are received, designated and administered.

Imdad Relief · 895 938 432Non-profit association · Oslo, Norway

Nature of a donation

A donation is a voluntary gift to Imdad Relief for the humanitarian purpose communicated. It does not give the donor ownership in a project or the right to select individual recipients unless this has been expressly agreed under a separate arrangement.

Humanitarian assistance and recipient selection are based on need, project criteria, safety and feasibility.

Designated donations

For donations made to a specific appeal, programme or humanitarian purpose, Imdad Relief will seek to use the donation for that stated purpose. Humanitarian conditions may change timing, procurement, supplier, distribution method, project location or operational approach without necessarily changing the humanitarian purpose.

If a particular project becomes fully funded, can no longer be delivered, becomes inaccessible or unsafe, or the need changes materially, Imdad will, as far as reasonably and responsibly possible, use the funds for the same or a closely related humanitarian purpose. This flexibility does not apply to Zakat where it would conflict with Imdad’s Zakat policy.

Zakat

Donations explicitly designated as Zakat are managed separately in accordance with Imdad Relief’s Zakat policy and the religious requirements applicable to those funds.

Zakat al-Mal is not treated as unrestricted funding. Imdad’s principle is that Zakat al-Mal is used in full for the qualifying purpose and not for ordinary administrative operating costs. The funds are not freely transferable to other purposes.

Recurring donations

Recurring donations continue under the terms of the selected payment service until the donor ends them. They may be ended through the payment service where supported or by contacting post@imdad.no. Cancellation applies to future charges.

Donations made in error

If you believe a donation was made in error, duplicated or made for an incorrect amount, contact us as soon as possible at post@imdad.no.

We assess refund requests individually. Where funds have already been transferred, committed or used for the stated humanitarian purpose, a refund may not always be possible. Nothing in these terms limits rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Refused or returned donations

Imdad may pause, decline or return a donation, or request additional information, when necessary for legal obligations, financial compliance, fraud prevention, sanctions and compliance controls, payment-provider requirements, or the protection of the organisation and beneficiaries.

Tax deductions and receipts

Imdad reports qualifying gifts through Islamsk Råd Norge (the Islamic Council of Norway). Tax relief requires the necessary donor details, correct reporting and compliance with the applicable conditions. Imdad may issue or make available confirmation of a received donation through relevant payment or donor systems. We cannot guarantee that a donation will qualify for a tax deduction.

Currency and fees

Where donations are received in other currencies, or banks and payment providers deduct fees, the amount recorded for a project or purpose may differ from the donor’s gross amount. Costs and exchange effects are handled according to the payment service and Imdad’s accounting procedures.
