Choose the number of missed fasts

NOK 100 per missed fast

Fidya generally applies when lasting illness or old age means you can neither fast now nor make up the days later. Fasts missed through temporary illness are normally made up later.

Fidya — food for people in poverty and need

The basis is feeding one person in poverty for each missed fast. Calculation and distribution requirements differ between schools of law. This is not a binding rate for everyone in Norway. Ask a qualified imam if you are unsure what applies to you.

Your gift is reserved for food distributed through Imdad’s Fidya programme. It is not a general food donation.

Fidya — food for people in poverty and need

01

When you cannot fast

Fidya generally applies when lasting illness or old age prevents you from fasting or making up the days later. The principle is to provide food for one person in need for each missed fast.

Fasts missed through temporary illness are normally made up later. Rulings on pregnancy, breastfeeding and delaying missed fasts differ between schools of law. A qualified imam can help you understand what applies to you.

02

Your fidya helps put food on the table

At Imdad, your fidya is reserved for food for people in poverty and need. Enter the number of days and see your total straight away.

03

Beyond Ramadan

Fidya already owed can also be fulfilled after Ramadan; you do not need to wait until next Ramadan. Views on advance payment for future fast days differ between schools of law. Ask a qualified imam what applies to you.
