What does this mean?

For a broken oath, the Qur’an includes feeding or clothing ten people in need; those without the means fast for three days. Kaffarah for breaking a Ramadan fast has different conditions: where required, two consecutive months of fasting apply, or feeding sixty poor people if fasting is not possible. The circumstances that trigger it differ between schools of law. Ask a qualified imam about your situation.

How Imdad manages your gift

Tell us which type of Kaffarah you need to fulfil. We agree the number of recipients, food provision, cost and timing before payment. An ordinary donation does not automatically fulfil Kaffarah.

Beyond Ramadan

Kaffarah is not restricted to Ramadan. Contact us at any time of year about food assistance for an existing obligation. Once established, it should be fulfilled without unnecessary delay.
