Bangladesh
Children grow up displaced, not knowing when they can return home. In Bangladesh, Rohingya families live in densely populated camps, depending on assistance for food, water and shelter. Heavy rain and floods make life even less secure.
Since 2017, Imdad has contributed food, water, shelter and basic support for Rohingya refugees. We also support families affected by floods.

The need and our response
Long-term displacement needs more than short-term attention
Rohingya families in Cox’s Bazar remain highly dependent on humanitarian assistance. In the 2026 response plan, the UN and partners warn of pressure on essential services. Food, clean water, sanitation, health and learning must keep functioning even when a crisis lasts for years.
Present from the first displacement
An Imdad volunteer team travelled to Cox’s Bazar in October 2017. Initial assistance included medicines, food, clothing, water, shelter and sanitation. The work has since also included wells and learning environments.
A well was completed through a Norwegian school partnership in 2021. Updates from 2026 show new food distributions and deep-well work. During floods, local team members have also carried food through water to families’ homes.
Stand with families over time
A gift to Bangladesh supports work that meets basic needs and makes daily life more dignified. Food helps now; water supplies and learning opportunities can matter well beyond a single distribution. Together, we can give this prolonged crisis the attention it still needs.
